Tourism Authority CEO Christine Walwyn (right) and Director of UK/Europe's London Office, Esther Smith locked in intense discussions.
    London, England (November 17, 2005):
As the curtains close on the 2005 World Travel Market (WTM), delegates are finalizing contracts and seeking to generate interest in the Federation by a few more clients.
Long-distance discussions however, will continue over the next few weeks to "firm up" negotiations started during WTM 2005.

Chief Executive Officer at the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, Christine Walwyn said she was extremely pleased with what she considers a giant leap in awareness and interest in the Federation, establishing it as truly the "Next Caribbean Adventure."

Minister of State in the Ministry of Tourism Hon. Richard Skerritt continues to meet with developers including Mr. Valmiki Kempadoo of Kittitian Heights Development. The minister told SKNIS that if the response of international developers to the offerings of St. Kitts and Nevis is any indication of their intentions in the future, the Federation has a bright future in tourism.

The minister warned however, that WTM negotiations are only the beginning and need to be maintained and followed-up by every resident by providing excellent service and attitudes to guests when they arrive in the Federation. The minister said that his ministry would continue to fund events such as WTM, which give St. Kitts a definite presence on the world's stage.

Tourism Authority CEO Christine Walwyn and Director of UK/Europe's London Office, Esther Smith also met today to discuss budgets for promotions in 2006.
