    (November 17, 2005) --- Nevis winner in the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) Foundation for the Caribbean 2005 Children's Essay Contest, junior category, Theon Tross of the St. Thomas' Primary School Thursday morning received a cheque of US $200.00 for his effort.

    Officials from the Ministry of Tourism, Education Officer responsible for the St. Thomas' Primary School and principal, teachers and pupils of the school were present.
    Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism Mr. Tyrone O'Flaherty handed over the cheque to the student who wrote the wining essay, Theon Tross. He told the students present that it was indeed an extremely precious moment, for it was the first time a student from the school had won this competition in Nevis.
     
    Principal of the school Ms. Earlene Maynard chaired the brief ceremony and said to the students present that hard work do pay off and just like Theon, they too could work hard and receive good benefits not only from essay competitions but in everything they did in life.
    Mrs. Averil Elliott, Education officer responsible for the St. Thomas' Primary School, extended congratulations to Theon, parents and teachers who helped him research, document and write his essay.
