St. Georges, Grenada - Leader of the Opposition, Dr. The Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell has once again expressed his gratitude to the Government and people of Venezuela for support given to Grenada during the period he served as Prime Minister and in particular during the period following the passage of Hurricane Ivan.
In a meeting with the new ambassador to Grenada for Venezuela His Excellency Carlos Perez, the Opposition said despite the challenges faced by Venezuela, Grenada has benefited significantly from the benevolence of his country.
He made specific reference to the Petro Caribe project and commended Venezuela for it’s vision and generosity in making possible such an arrangement to small island states like Grenada.
The new Ambassador expressed pleasure in meeting Dr. Mitchell whom he met briefly about three years ago and gave the commitment that he will do all in his power to strengthen the relationship between Grenada and Venezuela.
Dr. Mitchell extends best wishes to Ambassador Perez as he takes up this new assignment in Grenada.
