LIME Confirms Sponsorship of 2009-2010 National Carnival

    Basseterre, St. Kitts - Telecommunications Provider LIME has assured the Carnival loving public that it remains committed to supporting the annual St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival.
     
    In a brief ceremony held at its Needsmust office, Country Manager David Lake in handing over LIME's Sponsorship Cheque in the amount of US$50,000.00, reiterated LIME's commitment to the preservation of the Federation's Cultural Patrimony through the sustained development of National Carnival and its complimentary activities.
     
    "LIME is once again proud to step forward as the Premier Sponsor of the St. Kitts and Nevis National Carnival this year," Lake said. "This we do as part of our ongoing commitment to the support of Culture throughout the Federation."
     
    Chairman of National Carnival Gus Williams thanked LIME for its investment, particularly as it supports two challenging aspect of the festival - Calypso and Children's Carnival. 
     
    Chairman Williams remarked that even in this difficult global economic environment, National Carnival depends on the financial assistance from the Private and Public Sectors to successfully mount the year end festival.  He further appealed to other business entities to follow the example of LIME as Carnival belongs to all of us.
     
    LIME's Corporate Communications Manager, Lavern Caines, remarked that it was a pleasure for the telecommunications company to continue to associate with the national carnival.
     
    "We see it as a platform for which our people can display all of our cultural products, to not only our visitors but also to our returning nationals," Caines said. "We believe very strongly that when we support the cultural aspects of the Federation, we are really helping the people understand where we come from and where we are going culturally."

    In accepting LIME's donation Executive Director of Festivals, Allister Williams applauded LIME for teaming with the National Carnival Committee.
     
    Williams revealed that Carnival is scheduled to start from the 13th of December, 2009 to the 2nd of January 2010.
     
    "As we accelerate preparations for this exhibition of Kittitian and Nevisian artistry, we are reminded that the National Carnival Committee can only be a viable and worthwhile undertaking if private and public sectors, participants and volunteers become actively involved in the planning and execution of the festival," Williams said.
     
    "Today we are pleased to be here to witness the handing over of LIME sponsorship investment of US$50,000 in the development of Culture and the Arts.
