    The Parent Teachers Association (PTA) of the Ivor Walters Primary School at Prospect on Tuesday contributed to the development of the school with the presentation of one HP Desk Jet Printer.
    Speaking at a brief ceremony during the morning devotion, President of the PTA, Ms. Jasmine Herbert told the students, having been approached by the principal, she decided to make contact and was fortunately to make one phone call and received a donor.
     
    "I am grateful to the firm for coming forward and donating this printer," she said.  "I wish its management success in its business endeavours."
     
    The president, in handing over the printer to the school said, "Mr. Daniel, on behalf of the Ivor Walters Primary School Parent Teachers Association, I present to you this brand new HP Desk Jet printer.  I want you to take good care of it and I'm sure it will assist you in completing your daily task here at the school."
     
    Principal Wakely Daniel expressed his gratitude on behalf of the staff, pupils and the community of Brown Hill and Prospect, saying, It is indeed happy and quite ecstatic that we have an active Parents Teachers Association at the school.  You don't find that in many schools.
     
    "So Ms. Herbert, on behalf of the staff, pupils and everyone at the Ivor Walters Primary School and also the Prospect and Brown Hill community, let me give you our heartfelt thanks for sourcing this printer.  It will certainly be used to benefit the children at the school.  We are indeed indebted to you and the PTA."

    Meanwhile, the school was the winner of the 25th annual SJCIC Inter-primary School Quiz competition held at the Flats in St. Johns Parish on Monday.  The quiz which is co-sponsored by the Nevis Co-operative Credit Union saw Masters Al Flemming, Diandre Ottley and Duryan Cozier capturing the top trophy for the school.
     
    Principal Daniel told the assembly that the students did extremely well.  He congratulated the students as well as Teacher Gerald whom he noted worked extremely hard with the students, and called on the assembly to give them three cheers as well as a resounding round of applause.
     
    In related news, Principal Daniel also took the opportunity to convey his appreciation on behalf of the school to the Nevis Island Administration for its generous funding towards the construction of a round-a-bout on the school ground.  He pointed out that the upgrade of the ground would alleviate traffic congestion on the school ground
