KINGSTON, Jamaica – BERES HAMMOND may not be feeling too good recently as his 98 year-old mother has passed away.

The Jamaican reggae singer who brought out his hit single ‘I Feel Good’ on his 2008 VP Records album ‘A Moment In Time’ lost his mother on Saturday, September 12.

His mother, Roslyn Patterson, passed away in Port Maria, St. Mary, according to Carib World News online.

Patterson was born in Portland, Jamaica but lived most of her life in Annatto Bay, St. Mary, the website reported.

According to Iriefm.net, Beres’ sister Irene Hammond told music news that her mother was ailing for some time.
Hammond, born Hugh Beresford Hammond in Annotto Bay, Saint Mary, Jamaica, is known in particular for his romantic lover’s rock.

His career began in the 1970s but he reached his greatest success in the 1990s. His first album of the new millennium was 2001`s Music Is Life, which featured an appearance by Wyclef Jean.

The 2004 release ‘Love Has No Boundaries’ had guest spots by Buju Banton and Big Youth.

November 2008 saw the release by VP Records of yet another album - `A Moment In Time` - that featured the single `I Feel Good`.

Hammond, who performed at the 13th Annual St. Kitts Music Festival on June 26, gave a chilling performance with his countless hits including ‘Can’t Stop A Man’, No Disrespect’, ‘Tempted to Touch’, ‘Who Say (Big Man Nuh Cry)’, ‘Love from A Distance’ and ‘Sweet Lies’ and Love means never to say that you’re sorry’.
