KINGSTON, Jamaica – LEADING dancehall singjay David Brooks, who goes by the moniker Mavado, is going international this year with his birthday celebrations.

According to yardflex.com, Kingston and Montego Bay, Jamaica and New York are the cities chosen to be part of the celebrations for the ‘Gully god’s’ birthday while the festivities would officially kick off in Miami at the swanky Opium Hard Rock Cafe on Sunday, October 25.

The ‘Gansta for life’ artiste, and with his international crossover appeal continuing to rise, will have HOT97's Jabba and 99 Jamz' superstar DJ Khaled host the event that promises to be ‘gullyfull’ of surprises.

So far, sound systems including Innocent, Black Chiney, Massive B, 1-800-Bungie and Bashment Kid have been confirmed to celebrate with Brooks and friends.

Mavado is currently putting together his third album, due for release early next year, as well as continuing to collaborate with the world's hottest names in music.

Since the release of his debut album ‘Gangsta for Life: The Symphony of David Brooks’, Brooks has become one of the leading singjay’s with his strings of hits and hard hitting lyrics.

He has also collaborated with international stars on tracks including Wyclef Jean, Lil Wayne, Flo Rida, T-Pain, Jay-Z, Foxy Brown and most recently he voiced with Alicia Keys.

He has also just finished recording on a collaboration with new sensation ‘Drake’ that is sure to set the game on fire when it drops.

His second album, ‘Mr. Brooks…A Better Tomorrow’, also gave him rave reviews featuring tracks like ‘So Special’, ‘Overcome’, ‘So Blessed’, ‘On The Rock’, and ‘Money Changer’.

A very public feud between Brooks and former collaborator Vybz Kartel arose towards the end of 2006, which stemmed from Kartel's much publicised departure from the dancehall conglomerate group, The Alliance.

The feud resulted in numerous diss-tracks released, in which each artiste ‘dissed’ the other and their associates over popular dancehall rhythms.
