Roadtown, Tortola - Premier Honourable Ralph T. O’Neal, OBE has appointed five persons to three different boards in the Territory.

By instrument dated September 23, 2009, Financial Secretary Mr. Neil Smith has been appointed Deputy Chairman of the Social Security Board. Mr. Smith’s appointment is effective May 1, 2009 to August 31, 2010.

Two persons have been appointed to the Planning Authority. Mr. Anselmo Stevens will serve for three years effective June 10, 2009 and Mrs. Myrna Todman-Herbert for a period of two years, also effective June 10, 2009.

The other two appointments are that of Mr. Mike Rowe and Mr. Ajit George to the BVI Tourist Board. Both will serve four year terms effective June 15, 2009.

The appointments by Honourable O’Neal who is also Minister of Finance and Tourism are made by the virtue of power and authority vested in him under the relevant sections of the Social Security Ordinance (Cap.266), the Physical Planning Act, 2004 (No. 15 of 2004) and the Tourist Board Ordinance (Cap.280).
