BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – MOST patrons to the Miss Independent Party held last Saturday (Sept. 26) claimed that it was one of the best parties they have attended in a long while.

The music was on point with the smooth selections from TNO, Evolution and Sweet Sister Sensia.

The event, held at Michael’s on the Frigate Bay Strip and organised by the Island Soul Street Team, had a great turnout and was also incident free.

It was pure good ‘vibes’ and fun.

Cheddi Bradshaw of Island Soul Entertainment, who organised the Island Soul Street Team to serve as a marketing crew, said that the party was great and he was pleased with the turnout.

The party was dedicated to all the independent ladies who are proud and can take care of themselves.

“We aimed for 10 women to one man and it seemed like we accomplished that,” he said.

The party was also blessed with the talents of Kervin ‘Infamus’ Benjamin, a young artiste from Cayon, who has been taking over the airwaves with his ‘21 Gun Salute (We Miss You)’ single.

The 20-year-old artiste also performed some of his other tunes to an enthused audience, which included ‘Sipping Coke and Hennessy’, ‘One Draw’. He also introduced a new tune called ‘My Mama’, which is dedicated to his mother and all hardworking mothers.

Benjamin said he would be releasing a new music video, titled ‘Feel Like Crying’, that would match and perhaps surpass the popularity of his ‘21 Gun salute (We Miss You)’ music video, which received over 12 000 views on youtube.com in a four-week span.

The party would not have been complete without the live photo-shoot that took place on the outside and was conducted by RJM Photo Works, where persons were able to take high quality photos to be used on Island Souls website.

Bradshaw thanked everyone for attending the party and also those individuals who were involved in the planning and advertising stages. He indicated that all  party-goers  should look out for the next Island Soul event which would be a Pool Party in October.

He said pool parties are something that is not too common.

“We don’t have much pool party promotions going on and Street Team did promise to bring the events much different and creative than the usual parties that are promoted.

“Also, since we hosted two hot parties back-to-back, Back to School and Miss Independent, I think it’s time we cool down the temperature and do the next one around a pool,” he said.
