BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS – DATE: October 12, 2009 Sixteen year old Patrice Harris spent a very active summer this year. From volunteering her service conducting a communications session at the Lodge Primary School for a group of young persons to assisting with the sorting of books for a community library in Keys, this young humanitarian chose not to sit idle. A member of the St. Kitts National Youth Parliament, she was also part of a group which volunteered to clean the Bronte Welsh Primary School in preparation for its re-opening for the new school year.
Her efforts did not go unnoticed by LIME, the Caribbean’s leading full service telecommunications provider. During the summer, LIME announced it had a special reward for a young person, who used even a part of their summer holidays to make a positive difference in the lives of others. LIME is therefore very pleased to award Ms Harris with a phone valued at US$100.
The young humanitarian said she chose to use her summer holidays to give community service because she derives a sense of satisfaction from helping people.
“With so many activities available during the school holidays, you could easily have chosen just to think about your own satisfaction and all of us at LIME appreciate the fact that you used some of your free time this summer in such an unselfish way,” commented Country Manager, David Lake. “We hope that you continue to keep service to others and your community as a priority in your life and we are encouraging young people everywhere to follow your example.”
Patrice Harris received her reward today at LIME’s flagship store when Laverne Caines, Corporate Communications Manager presented her prize on behalf of LIME.
