Valuable prizes available from Island Purified Water and Central Bank

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE message of Financial Information Month has made its way onto specially-labeled drinking water and many prizes are available through the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) promotion.

Drinking water bottled by Island Purified Water Ltd. has been marketed with a new label for this month in order to spread the theme ‘Save and invest today…enjoy tomorrow’.

Recognizing the importance of the theme, especially as the nation faces the effects of a global economic crisis, financial institutions involved with the month of activities intensified their marketing efforts across new avenues to reach a wider audience.

According to ECCB Corporate Relations Officer Shermalon Kirby, the message should impact the financial behaviour of water consumers.

“It’s a new strategy to promote the logo and the theme. People use bottled water quite a lot, so we thought that this would be a very effective way to disseminate the information. We are promoting healthy lifestyles by encouraging people to drink water.

“At the same time,” she added, “we are promoting the theme of Financial Information Month, with an added bonus of winning.”

There are numerous prizes to be won for consumers of the specially-labeled drinking water. Customers can remove the labels from the bottles and place them in an envelope with their name and contact information before sending them to the ECCB at P.O. Box 89.

As long as the label bears the logo, it will be accepted and there is no limit to the number of labels that one can submit.

Bottles will start hitting the shelves of supermarkets, bars, shops and stores by today (Oct. 13).

The more labels a person collects, the more chances he or she has to win.  Each label submitted will be placed in a drum attached to a sticker identifying the name of the person who submitted the label.

Prizes from the contest include two-night stays in hotels, dinner at various restaurants, food hampers, gift certificates and vouchers.

Over 25 winners will be selected via a live draw scheduled to take place on national television in November.
