CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - POLICE are investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting incident in Nevis, in which the intended victim evaded his assailants but suffered non-life threatening injuries during the process.
According to a police press release, the shooting incident occurred in Gingerland on Thursday (July 15).
Preliminary investigations revealed that at about 8:00 p.m. on the day in question, Chase Hamilton of Hanley’s Road was walking along the main road in Rawlins Village when unknown assailants started shooting at him.
In an attempt to evade his assailants, Hamilton reportedly began running but fell several times in the process causing him to dislocate his shoulder and suffer lacerations about his body.
He was transported in a private vehicle to the Alexandra Hospital, where he was treated and discharged.
Personnel from the Crime Scene Unit processed the scene and collected items of evidential value.
