Glenn Browne

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AN autopsy has confirmed that Glenn Browne, the Federation’s latest homicide victim, died as a result of gunshot injuries to his head.

A communiqué from the Royal St. Christopher-Nevis Police Force stated that Dr. Stephen Jones performed a post-mortem examamination on Browne’s body on Monday (Oct. 19).

The forensic pathologist subsequently concluded that the 24-year-old Market Street resident’s death was due to “gunshot injuries to the head”.

After sustaining multiple gunshot wounds by two armed assailants on Sunday, October 11, Browne was transported to and warded at the Joseph N. France Hospital. He died two days later, making him the 23rd homicide victim in the Federation for the year.

SKNVibes visited the hospital the day before Browne’s passing and spoke to several members of his family. According to them, he had been shot four times; once to his head, and a bullet each to his foot, arm and hand.

They also revealed that, due to the bullet still lodged in his head, they were considering options to send him abroad for the necessary medical treatment. Unfortunately, Browne died before any further steps could have been taken.

His death was the 23rd by homicide in 2009, equaling the record high set in 2008. According to police statistics, there have been 62 homicide victims in the Federation since January 1, 2007.
