KINGSTON, Jamaica – DANCEHALL artist ‘Mr. Lexx’ was recently granted bail in the sum of US$2,500 when he appeared in court to answer to a rape charge in the United States on Saturday according to yardflex.com

Mr. Lexx whose real name is Christopher Palmer is booked to appear in court in the United States on November 2 the news site reported.

The deejay was picked up at the Holiday Inn in New York, where he was staying while on a visit to that country after a report was made to the police last Friday morning, that on the previous night he had sexually molested a woman who was also a guest at the hotel.

It has been revealed that the woman is a friend of Palmer and she is Jamaican.

Yardflex.com also said that his manager, Earlton Clarke, said the artiste was scheduled to leave the States on Saturday last, but had to surrender his passport and will now have to remain in the US until the hearing on November 2.

“The matter is before the court, so I am unable to say much, except that this has come as a total shock for the artiste and it couldn’t have happened at a more inopportune time. Mr Lexx’s career is just starting to get back on a level and this is the kind of publicity that no artiste ever wants. But I have spoken to him and after hearing him relate the incident, I am standing by him to the end.” Clarke was quoted as saying.

In the late 90’s Mr Lexx (then Lexxus) commanded attention in the dancehall with songs such as ‘Gonna Make Some Money’, ‘Full Hundred’ and ‘Cook’.
