Beach ‘Karen’ creates stir on Nevis

By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

…demands kids stop playing in the area

CHERLESTOWN, Nevis - IN a scene that is often played out in the United States and given widespread coverage internationally, it is not that often one would hear or see Caucasians making certain demands locally or calling the police on children playing in the Caribbean.

But that was done recently on Nevis, where an alleged tourist demanded that several students of primary school age stop running along the beach, where they were practicing for the upcoming Inter-school Championship.

Media reports suggested that after allegedly calling the police on the children and got no satisfaction, she then in protest lay herself on the sand  to prevent the children from running in the area.

The entire incident was caught on camera and has been widely circulated on social media, as the woman was seen having a breakdown in the location

Media reports suggested that the woman has since apologised for her conduct and her husband has planned to make a donation to the school that the children attend.

He reportedly also apologised for his wife’s action.

International media have often referred to Causian women who call police or berate children as “Karen”.
