BASSETERRE, St. Kitts -- AFTER weeks of anticipation and anxiety, the people in St. Kitts and Nevis will go to the polls in August.
Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris this evening put the suggestions and rumours to rest by announcing that General Elections will be held on August 5th. In addition, Nomination day is set for July 26th.
During his speech at a campaign rally this evening in Constituency Seven, Dr. Harris confirmed that he advised the Governor General of his decision early last week.
Tonight’s announcement now opens the door for more political rallies in the lead up to the polls.
The St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party Leader, Dr. Terrance Drew has described elections day as “liberation day”.
