CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – POPULAR sports enthusiast Benjamin ‘Benny’ Hodge was laid to rest yesterday (Nov. 11) after a funeral service at the Charlestown Methodist Church.
Hundreds turned out to pay their last respects to the man who, as Marketing Officer of Carib Breweries Ltd, was responsible for arranging sponsorship for many a sporting and community related activities on Nevis.
Among those paying homage were ministers in the Nevis Island Administration, Nevis Opposition Leader Hon. Vance Amory and Leader of the People’s Action Movement (PAM) Lindsay Grant. Representatives of the Nevis cricket and football associations were also present.
Hodge, who died on November 1, is survived by his wife, former Principal Education Officer on Nevis, Jennifer Herbert-Hodge; and daughters Stacey Taylor and Kristal Hodge.
