NIA CHARLESTOWN NEVIS (June 12, 2023) -- Preparations for the Nevis Tourism Authority’s (NTA) ninth annual Nevis Mango Festival slated for June 30 to July 02, 2023, are in high gear, with interest already peaking for some events.

Mr. Pheon Jones, the authority’s Director of Sales and Marketing made the comment when he gave the Department of Information an update on June 12, 2023, on the overall interest in the festival so far.

“On the 30th of June our international chef, Chef Tayo would be on island conducting a cooking class and that is already sold out. That would be held at Dew Drops on the 30th of June. In addition to that on July 1st at Mount Nevis, people are already calling and expressing their interest for the Supper Club. We already have some bookings for that as well. So overall the interest from the general public is there; tickets are being purchased.

“I’ve been informed by my office that persons are coming in getting tickets etc. I can’t give out the numbers but I must say that I’m very pleased and excited as this year’s event is trending to be one of the best mango festivals that we’re going to have. It is being hosted by our international influencer ‘Julie Mango,’” he said.

According to Mr. Jones, patrons can also expect to have a lot of “great surprises” at the stalls where more than 30 chefs will be available at the “For the Love of Mango” event on July 02 which will be held at the Malcolm Guishard Recreational Park at Pinney’s.

He added that at the same event, there will also be a cookoff between a team from Barbados and one from Nevis, live entertainment and overall fun.

Mr. Jones used the opportunity to urge persons who have not yet purchased tickets for the events to do so.

“I just want to encourage everyone, the general public, if you haven’t purchased your tickets get them now. You can go online to purchase them at nevismangofest.com or you could come to our office and you could purchase a ticket then.

“It’s totally up to you but again, I just want to encourage everyone to come on out to the Nevis Mango Festival from June 30 to the 2nd of July; Nevis is the place to be. Nevis Naturally! Nevis Nice!” he said.

This year's Nevis Mango Festival is being held in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and the Bank of Nevis International Limited.
