BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE 25th Edition of the St. Kitts Music Festival kicked off to an entertaining start with the ‘Jump-up Night’ setting an energetic tone for the remainder of activities.

With some of the region’s top Soca artistes, coupled with local acts, performing on Thursday’s opening, patrons were fully entertained.

Kes the Band was the standout for many patrons, with him closing the individual performances for the night into Friday morning with his electrifying groovy performance.

He brought out his vast array of lyrics that are popular across the region and the world. But it was his final tune of ‘Savannah Grass’ that sent the crowd into frenzy at the Warner Park Cricket Stadium.

Many jumped, some screamed and gyrated as his performance was rated “250 percent more than what he was paid,” one patron opined.

Dexter Daps preceded Kes with his Reggae and Dancehall lyrics and held his own while being sandwiched in the ‘Jmp-up Night’, as he touched the female patrons lwhile they moved to the melody of his hits.

Nailah Blackman and Patrice Roberts showcased why they were among the top Soca artistes in the industry.

Stadics and Mr. Bagnall were among the first artistes up for the night and they gave good account of themselves, as the 25th Edition of the St. Kitts Music Festival got underway.

They both told SKNVibes that they are appreciative of the opportunity to entertain at the Festival. Bagnall, however, was a bit more emotional as he reminded that it was his first performance in six months as he continues to recover from an ailment.
