Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 16, 2023 (SKNIS): Sunday’s (September 17, 2023) National Service of Gratitude and Gospel Concert will have a bit of an international flair following the announcement that the popular gospel group Grace Thrillers of Jamaica and the Grammy-nominated American gospel singer Todd Dulaney have been added to the lineup.

Co-chair of the Independence 40 Planning Committee Viera Galloway, said that the additions to the artiste lineup which was already packed with talent, will broaden the praise and worship experience.

“Adding the overseas acts to the gospel concert will bring international exposure, and adds diversity, and a fresh perspective to the event, as well as to our local artistes, thus enriching the overall experience for attendees,” said Ms. Galloway. “It can also foster cultural exchange and broaden the horizons of the local artistes.”

The Grace Thrillers are beloved throughout the Caribbean and have made a positive impact on the international music scene in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada. The group was founded in the 1970s and is known for hits such as Can’t Even Walk, Until the Storm Passes, and Amen.

Todd Dulaney is a praise and worship hit anthem writer who earned a Stellar Award in 2019 for the Praise and Worship CD of the Year, Your Great Name. Dulaney has delivered several of the biggest worship anthems with #1 singles including You’re Doing it All Again, Your Great Name and Psalm 18.

The National Service of Gratitude and Gospel Concert will be held at the Conaree Playing Field starting at 4 p.m. Also appearing will be the Sugar Hill String Band, Blessed Ogbum, Shekinah Dance Ministry, the National Choir and more. Pastor Renecia Huggins of the St. Pauls Wesleyan Holiness Church will deliver the word.

Co-chair Galloway strongly encouraged persons to come out to give God thanks for His blessings over the past 40 years.

“Join us in celebrating the power of gospel music and unity at this extraordinary event,” she stated. “Let your spirit soar and be inspired by the melodious voices from around the world. Your presence will make this experience even more special. We will offer plenty of seating options and designated shaded areas to ensure everyone is protected from the sun, creating an inclusive and enjoyable event experience for all.”

The event forms part of the celebratory activities marking St. Kitts and Nevis’ 40th Independence Anniversary.
