    Monday, December 7 – The Department of Education is informing all parents and guardians of students of the Elmore Stoutt High School that as of today the school will be closed for Christmas break until classes resume in January for the Lent term.
     
    According to the department the early closure of the school is to facilitate the attendance of all teachers at a mandatory Health and Family Life Workshop which is being offered at the school for the remainder of the week.
     
    Additionally, throughout the week an official from the ministry will be at the school to address the questions and concerns from teachers in relation to Power School, the school’s web-based student information system.
     
    Any student who has to take make-up tests or complete assignments must contact their respective teachers at the school to make the necessary arrangements.
     
    Speaking on behalf of the Government of the Virgin Islands, Minister for Education and Culture the Honourable Andrew Fahie offered sincere thanks to the principal and staff of the Elmore Stoutt High School for a productive and successful advent term and wished them all the best for the new year.
