BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE Carnival fun continued last evening (Dec 27) with the National Panorama Competition, which saw EBJ Harmonics once again emerging victorious with their majestic arrangement and crows pleasing presentation.
The defending champions were put to the tests and came away with the title despite the show being overshadowed by an incident that left the steel pan fraternity in mourning.
At the end of the night’s activity, EBJ Harmonics took their fourth consecutive title with a tally of 262 points, while Sugar City Steel Orchestra was adjudged First Runner-up with 242 and Nevis Community Steel Orchestra with 231 points took the Second Runner-up position.
Attended by a fair-sized crowd, the champions displayed their creativity with the rendition of ‘Long Live Soca’ by Voice out of Trinidad and Tobago., as they hit their notes, ran their scales and won the judges’ nod with their excellent performance.
Sugar City Steel Orchestra played ‘Cheers to Life’ by Voice, while Nevis Community Steel Orchestra renditioned ‘Iron Man’ by Lord Kitchner.
