Taiwanese Embassy hosts luncheon for senior citizens

By: Taiwan Embassy, Press Release

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, (December 9th, 2009) - The Embassy of the Republic of China, St. Kitts and Nevis Department of Social and Community Affairs and ICDF Alumni Society jointly sponsored a luncheon for around fifty senior citizens from three communities including Mc. Knight and De Village, East Basseterre, Molyneaux and Mansions on December 9.  A 15-minute DVD about Taiwan was shown before meal serving, and the popular Jingle Bells String Band was at site to provide entertainment throughout the luncheon.

The venue for the luncheon was Formosa Garden, which thoughtfully prepared both local and Taiwanese cuisines for the seniors, and contributed free drinks to this meaningful event.  During the luncheon, at the urging of the crowd, Amb. Wu tried a few dance moves with other seniors, and played a bit banjo with the band to everyone’s enjoyment.
