Herbert faces murder charge

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts -- POLICE have made significant progress in solving one of the recent homicides in the Federation.

     

    According to the police, 32-year-old Jamari Herbert of John Street, Newtown/Upper Monkey Hill, St. Peter’s, St. Kitts, has been charged with the murder of 38-year-old Elston Estridge of Conaree Village, St. Kitts.

     

    Estridge’s death is the 11th homicide reported in the Federation this year.

     

    On April 18, 2024, between 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m., gunshots were heard in John Street, Newtown. When law enforcement arrived at the scene, they found Estridge lying motionless with gunshot wounds.

     

    Herbert was charged on April 23, 2024, at the Cayon Police Station.
