SKNVibes PEP Radio links up with Radio1

By: Cherisse M. Sutton-Jeffers, SKNVibes
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - AS SKNVibes PEP continues on its quest to be bigger and better in every way, this media house is pleased to announce to its viewers that PEP Radio can now be listened to live on Radio1 at 94.1FM
Now all you ‘PEP-a-holics’ out there can listen to your favorite radio personality, the one and only Lesley ‘Sugar Bowl’ Morton, every week-day from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Commenting briefly, Morton said he feels good knowing that people could now tune in to the radios in their homes and in their cars and listen to him other than just via the internet.

As part of the new excited launch, there will be give-a-ways to about 40 persons every day until the end of December, compliments of LIME, while some lucky customer will win EC$1 000 each day.

According to Gus Williams, proprietor of Radio1, “This is a wonderful opportunity for local broadcasters and the community to work together for the benefit of all radio lovers to keep in touch with our ‘kit and kin’ throughout the diaspora and our nationals in particular.”

He continued by saying it is clear example of teamwork and inventiveness as well as positive use of modern technology with radio 94.1, which is established and known as a community-base non-profitable radio station. He said the station appeals to a family-based audience, projecting the best in all types of music and promoting local musicians, writers and local advertisers in promoting local small businesses in particular to help the local economy.

Williams further stated that they welcome the initiative, which is an innovation in the positive use of modern technology coming from the smallest nation in the Caribbean and the western hemisphere.

“We hope this experiment will be successful in serving all lovers of radio broadcasting,” Williams concluded.

A test run was done today (Dec. 11) while the official launch of the PEP Radio/Radio1 connection will take place on Monday, December 14.
