Executive Director of the St. Kitts Music Festival Allister Williams |
Basseterre, St. Kitts (March 23, 2006): Executive Director of the St. Kitts Music Festival Allister Williams says patrons can expect one or more Grammy award winners to be featured each night at the tenth annual event.
Thrilling the audience will be acts such as Dionne Warwick, Air Supply, Shaggy, Beenie Man and Yolanda Adams among others.
According to Williams this is one element of continuing to improve the quality of the festival annually, and a special edition for the big upcoming tenth anniversary.
Williams touted annual innovations as the reason that the summer event continues to blaze a trail in the region as far as festivals are concerned. This year, festival experts who have worked on festivals throughout the region and beyond will work alongside the Music Festival Committee to help bring some fresh ideas.
He added that Chris Brown, one of the newest and most popular sensations on the music scene has been contracted especially for young patrons as well as those young at heart.
He re-emphasized the mix of music genres which is geared to reach a wide cross section of music lovers. He added that fringe activities are designed to entertain international patrons of the music festival during the day time and weekend hours giving them a chance to sample the total St. Kitts experience.
The Executive Director said the re-introduction of Jazz this year has come in response to requests from local and international patrons who have requested its return.
Some of the other artistes appearing on the 10th annual St. Kitts International Music Festival are Arrow, Atlantik featuring Destra, Arturo Tappin, Culture, Morgan Heritage, Crucial Bankie and Bankie Banks.
