Basseterre, St. Kitts (4 April 2006) - There are only a few days remaining before the deadline, for persons and organizations wishing to obtain licenses for concessions to sell food and beverages at the Warner Park Stadium during the upcoming One Day International and Test Match between the West Indies and India.
As is the tradition during cricket in the West Indies, fans look forward to the vendors who sell popcorn, nuts, hot dogs and other snacks in addition to the food and drink that are characteristically Caribbean. Therefore, vendors are encouraged to come forward and offer a wide selection of items that will be in demand from spectators at Warner Park during the 2006 Digicel Home Series.
Applications for vending are available from the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, Ministry of Sports, St. Kitts Cricket Association, Sports Zone in the Sands Complex, and at the Digicel offices on Fort and Cayon Streets, and should be completed and hand-delivered no later than Friday, April 7, 2006 to the offices of the Joint Local Organising Committee located at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Building on Horsfords Road.
A track record in catering or experience in bar operations is a plus but the opportunity also exists for sports and other organisations. However, a Food Handlers Permit, which should he submitted along with the application, is absolutely necessary for food handlers. Interested persons wishing to operate bars for the purpose of selling alcohol must have a Liquor License. The Joint Local Organising Committee also requires that all permits and licenses be current and up-to-date.
An application fee applies and a separate license fee is required upon successful approval of the application. Following the deadline, applicants will be invited for an interview to discuss the status of their application.
