CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - As the curtains came down on the last Show held at the Pinneys Beach Hotel, on Friday March 26th, the second Round of the Carib Brewery – TDC – LIME 2010, Nevis Karaoke Idol began, and as many noted, what it did was simply raise the enthalpy and entropy levels of all Performers and Audience members alike.
The burning question was; which twelve (12) performers would go through to the next Show and which three (3) would go home? Well, that question was indeed answered and come Wednesday April 7th, after taking a break for the Easter Holidays, the Legends Sports Bar will again erupt as the following Singers edge closer to taking home US $1, 000.00. And they are.... Drum Roll Please.......
1. Laurenn Barry
2. Lenny Claxton
3. Dawn Desreaux
4. Allison Dore
5. Montgomery Fredericks
6. Amie Griffin
7. Vallencia Hanley
8. Levi James
9. Andrew “Hollywood” Nisbett
10. Jervan Swanston
11. Irvincia Warner
12. Rhyana Wong
And please, they are listed above in alphabetical order and not the order that they ended up in at the end of the First Round. LOL.
So come this Wednesday, at 8:00 pm sharp, all twelve (12) Performers will be performing two (2) Songs, one of their choice and another one given to them by the Organizers. Once more, this additional Song is being added to see how versatile the Singers are as they are taken outside of their “comfort zones” so to speak. It also gives them an opportunity to demonstrate their creativity as they put new spins and twists on the mood, theme, and meaning of these “Competition Songs”, as they are being labelled.
In chatting to Noah Mills, one of the members on the Karaoke Idol Committee, he explained that they had also listened closely to feedback from the Caravan of followers of the Idol Production. For example, this time, tables and chairs will now be scattered under the stars for onlookers to sit and further enjoy the Show. Also, instead of a single “Competition Song,” to add even more variety each of the six (6) males will be asked to sing of three (3) songs, and similarly, each if the females, one of three (3) other sings.
