Road Town, Tortola-The Minister for Communications and Works, Honourable Julian Fraser RA today expressed his gratitude and appreciation for all who assisted Government in restoring water to the Baugher’s Bay Plant after Ocean Conversion BVI Limited handed over the keys on March 29.

The statemoent came during the eighth sitting of the third session of the first House of Assembly. “Mr. Speaker, I crave your indulgence as I express my sincerest thanks to the people of Seven Seas Water Corporation of Florida who in our times of need came to our rescue without hesitation. And to the folks at Aqua Design BVI Ltd., particularly Tyrone Richardson aka Smiley, Elton Mathias aka Tattoo, Kevin Frett, Courtney Johnson, Rob Shereiner, and of course Michael Mathews who led the team.”

The Minister noted the time and effort spent by all involved to ensure that water was restored as quickly as possible. “Mr. Speaker, I myself spent hours at the Plant and know firsthand the commitment of this team, I was there when Michael asked Kevin to get his boat to go to Virgin Gorda to get parts, and he did, not once but twice. I was there when Michael chartered a plane to bring in parts from Anguilla; I was there when Michael had to put his welding team in full gear to do stainless steel repairs, and I am fully aware of their receipt of parts ordered from St. Maarten by Seven Seas Corporation,” the minister explained.

Minister Fraser also recognized how the lack of water affected the people of the Territory. “Now to the real heroes in all this, the people who were made to suffer the inconvenience. On behalf of the entire Government I thank you for your patience and understanding,” he said.

The Ministry of Communications and Works is committed to the continued development and maintenance of the public infrastructure.
