Basseterre, St. Kitts (April 27, 2010) – Grammy nominee and son of reggae icon Bob Marley, Ky-mani Marley has joined the line-up for this year’s St Kitts Music Festival, which will take place on island from June 24-26, 2010.

The second youngest child of reggae legend Bob Marley, Ky-mani Marley remains true to his Jamaican culture while incorporating his keenness for all genres of music into his own distinctive sound. Born in 1976, his career in music began in 1997 when he teamed with hip-hop artist Pras of The Fugees and collaborated on Eddy Grant’s “Electric Avenue,” which peaked at #35 on the Billboard charts.

In 1999, Marley’s distinctive sound was unveiled in his album The Journey, which received mass critical acclaim.  Known as a reggae artist without limits, Ky-mani routinely incorporates hip-hop, blues, rock and a grass-roots style that is recognized as a reflection of the way he lives his life.  His 2001 album, Many More Roads, was nominated for a Grammy Award for best reggae album.

He is featured on Young Buck's album Buck the World, on a track called "Puff Puff Pass," Afu-Ra's album Body of the Life Force, on a track called "Equality," and on Ms. Dynamite's album A Little Deeper.   Also an actor and author, Kymani’s film and television credits include One Love; BET J – Living the Life of Marley; NBC/Telemundo - The Shuffle; andFox - Happy Hour with Cody Willard and Rebecca Gomez, to name a few.

He is currently on tour promoting his autobiography "Dear Dad," which was released on February 6, 2010. Additionally, he is working on his new clothing line Konfrontation, his non-profit organization Love Over All Foundation (LOAF) and recording new material for his upcoming album Evolution of a Revolution.

“I am looking forward to delivering a spectacular performance at the St Kitts Music Festival this June and eager to share my music with the audience,” stated Ky-Mani Marley.

“We’re thrilled to add Ky-Mani Marley to this year’s Music Festival line-up,” states Rosecita Jeffers, CEO of the St Kitts Tourism Authority. “His eclectic style is a reflection of the diverse genres that will be showcased at this year’s event, which is sure to be a memorable experience with world class performances in our signature block party atmosphere.”

Now in its 14th consecutive year, the festival attracts both locals and visitors alike. It features various musical styles on the popular market, including R&B, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Soca, Calypso, Gospel and Contemporary music. Past artists have included such prominent acts as John Legend, T-Pain, Michael Bolton, K.C. and the Sunshine Band, Wyclef Jean, Ne-Yo, Air Supply, Dionne Warwick, Billy Ocean, Sean Paul, Boyz II Men, King Konris, Stephen Marley, Regina Belle, Maxi Priest, Biggie Irie and Lord Nelson.
