    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS (MARCH 16TH 2004) India’s High Commissioner-Designate to the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, His Excellency Mr. Avinash Chandra Gupta presents his credentials Wednesday morning to the Governor General His Excellency Dr. Sir Cuthbert Sebastian.
     
    The Indian diplomat, who arrived here on Monday morning, will pay a courtesy call on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Trade, Labour, Social Security, CARICOM Affairs and Telecommunications and Technology on Tuesday morning.
     
    Mr. Gupta, who replaces Mr. Virendra Gupta, presents his credentials to Sir Cuthbert at Government House before paying courtesy calls on St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Denzil L. Douglas; Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Cooperatives, Lands and Housing, the Hon. Cedric Liburd; Minister of Foreign Affairs and Education, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Education, Mr. Osmond Petty.
     
    The Indian diplomat, who has had a long and distinguished career in the Foreign Service since 1975, travels to Nevis Tuesday afternoon to meet with officials of the Nevis Island Administration.
     
    Ambassador Gupta is accompanied by his wife, Rheka Gupta.
