, St. Kitts, May 22, 2006: The St. Kitts and Nevis Development Bank celebrates its silver anniversary with an Appreciation Day for its customers, today.
General Manager of the bank Mr. Aukland Hector said that the bank's 25th Anniversary is significant and it is an appropriate time to recognize clients.  He said that previously customers had been shown appreciation on the 10th and 20th anniversaries of the bank.

Mr. Hector went on to state that Development Bank has made a significant contribution to the economic development of St. Kitts and Nevis.  He cited that funding has been provided for all sectors, including education, housing, small business, tourism and its
ancillary services.  Mr. Hector emphasized that the Appreciation Day was just a means of saying thanks to the customers who had used the bank's services over the years.

Several persons were critical in the coordination of activities in commemoration of the Development Bank's 25th anniversary.  One of these individuals was Senior Administrative Officer Mrs. Verne

These were a radio quiz scheduled for Wednesday, May 24, which will air on ZIZ Radio and Choice FM Nevis, a picnic and a catamaran trip to Nevis on Saturday, May 27 and an anniversary dinner on Saturday, June 23.

Another individual on the organizing committee, Recoveries Manager Mr. David Fox said that in planning the activities it was of great importance to ensure the participation of the bank's staff located at the main branch in St. Kitts as well as the branch in Nevis.

He explained that there had been a bit of a challenge because many of the staff members had been on vacation so they had to work around that.  Mr. Fox further acknowledged that without the customers the bank would not have attained 25 years and he emphasized that the staff looked forward to serving its patrons in the future.

Customers visiting the bank today were treated to light refreshments and trinkets such as pens, in a festive well decorated atmosphere.
