North Sound, Antigua – Star of the Match, Ravi Rampaul and Lendl Simmons combined to hand Trinidad & Tobago a thumping and domineering 56 run win over Leeward Islands before their home crowd at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Grounds.

Simmons crashed a blistering 83 from 62 balls with five scorching fours and a similar number of nonchalantly disdainful sixes. He added 65 for the opening stand with Adrian Barath (26 from 22 balls with four boundaries) as the Trinis made 153 for 5 from 20 overs.

Leewards were reduced to 27 for 4 and never recovered as they stuttered to 97 all out as Rampaul bowled with tremendous control to register the best ever figures in regional Twenty20 of 5 for 9 from 3.4 overs.

Kevon Cooper and Sherwin Ganga each had 2 wickets for 30 and 12 runs respectively as the Trinis displayed their dominance over the hesitant home team who are yet to win a match in regional T20.

Justin Athanaze top scored with some lusty hitting at the end to get 26 while wicketkeeper Devon Thomas made 22. No other batsman reached 15.
