KINGSTON, Jamaica, January 17th 2011 - Reggae singjay Junior X is determined to take his career to the next level and will let nothing stop him from achieving this goal. Not even being told that he would have to perform after dancehall music giant Mavado, at the recently held Pepsi Rebel Salute stage show could faze him.
Coming on stage after Mavado who delivered a masterful performance in the wee hours of the morning, Junior X proved why he is being hailed as the Prince of the Battlefield in local music circles. Delivering songs such as ‘Plead My Cause’, ‘The Pill’ and ‘Gangster Life’ he connected well with the huge Rebel Salute audience and earned several forwards before he exited the stage.
“It’s never easy to perform after a bigger act on any show, but when the stage manager told me that I would have to perform right after Mavado, it didn’t worry because I knew this was an opportunity for me to prove myself. So I just kept cool until it was my time and when my name was called, I went on stage with on intention and that was to please the people. Judging from the positive response I got, that goal was clearly achieved,” said the artiste.
Junior X is currently promoting the latest singles off his debut album ‘Soundtrack of Life’, these are ‘Look No Further’ which features Queen Ifrica, ‘Destiny’ and ‘Never Stop Trying’ which were both done in combination with Gyptian. The album is slated to be released in March through VP Records.
