BRIDGETOWN Barbados, January 28th 2011 – Barbados have dropped allrounder Dwayne Smith and recalled experienced pacer Pedro Collins in the 13-man squad for the opening match of the West Indies Cricket Board’s Four-Day first-class season against Trinidad and Tobago next week.

The team features four teenagers in – Kraigg Brathwaite, Shane Dowrich, Jason Holder and newcomer Roston Chase. The selectors have not named a specialist spinner and the slow bowling is expected to come from skipper Ryan Hinds and allrounder Shamarh Brooks.

The 27-year-old Smith, who has played 10 Tests and 77 One-Dayers for the West Indies, batted with success at the top of the order in the recent Caribbean T20 2011, but has been overlooked for the longer format. Collins, the 34-year-old former West Indies left-arm pacer with 478 wickets in 141 first-class, will form the new ball attack with the firey Tino Best.

No place has been found for pacer Fidel Edwards, who is trying to make a comeback after an 18-month lay-off. The selectors have also omitted right-handed opener Rashidi Boucher and Jonathan Carter, the left-handed strike-maker.
