CHARLESTOWN Nevis, January 28th 2011 - SL Horsfords Highlights suffered a major setback in their plans of regaining champion honours in the local Football league when a very positive Combined Schools team defeated them last evening at the ETW Park.
The final score line was 2 goals to nil, in favour of the school team.
The Combined schools could have won by an even wider margin but ‘Ziggy’ Newton on two occasions had just goalie to beat but missed out on both occasions. The first time as he approached the goal, his brother Sheldon Lawrence shouted from the crowd for him to ‘buss it’ and in his attempt to give the ball a healthy wallop, sent it way off target much to the chagrin of the supporting fans. His second chance was much better directed but it went hard and low to the left of the upright.
The goal scorers for the School team were: ‘Akbo’ Taylor and Shaeed Tyson
