The newly elected Nevis Island Administration announced that it would continue to support the island's most celebrated summer festival, "Culturama" and would introduce new avenues in the developmental thrust of the island's culture.

In that regard, the Administration hosted the annual Premier's cocktail reception for the various participants in this year's Culturama activities at the prestigious Four Seasons Resort.

The large gathering included members of the Nevis Island Administration and a cross section of the community in celebration with the Ms Culturama Queen, Talented Youth and the Leeward Island Queen contestants and the Mr. Kool and Senior Kaiso participants.

Premier of Nevis, the Hon Mr. Joseph Parry welcomed all to the reception.  He noted that it was a deserving honour to be among so many people.
"It is my expectation that Culturama 2006 would be as good as any," added Premier Parry.  "We want you to come out in your numbers and giver your full support to all the shows.  Let us participate, let there be no disorder, no disagreement, let us fully enjoy ourselves."
