BASSETERRE St. Kitts, March 11th 2011 - While the 2011 theme for International Women’s Day, “Equal Access to Education, Training and Science and Technology: Pathway to Decent Work for Women” forces us to reflect on women’s contribution in the work force and the importance of opportunities to be available to women, we must acknowledge the role healthy lifestyles have in ensuring women are able to perform their various tasks in the workplace, in the home and in the community.
As such the Department of Gender Affairs has organized a health walk from 6:00a.m. on Saturday 12th March.
Walkers both male and female from both the private and public sector as well as sports organizations and other NGO’s will walk together from the round-a bout by Best Buy Supermarket, under the bridge, along the By-pass Road and into Frigate Bay in a show of solidarity for healthy lifestyles and various sectors working together towards the same goals.
