SANDY POINT St. Kitts, March 11th 2011 - Community group SPIRIT is known for hosting ground-breaking, high quality events which entertain hundreds and pull communities closer together, and the upcoming Black San' Bang-a-Lang is only expected to be grander!
The new Sandy Point festival unravels three explosive weeks of unlimited revelry, entertainment and fun for everyone. Organizers have promised a fusion of bashes and parties, with a spectacular slate of events, expected to draw thousands to the north-western town.
The exciting calendar, stretching from April 1-25, boasts events from jaw dropping swimsuit pageants to open-air debates and from family outings to gospel extravaganzas: a mix that is said to have a bit of something for everyone! What is not surprising, the festival comes with a few unique surprises!
In the forefront, Black San' Bang-a-Lang will be featuring a novel event dubbed 'Tractorcade', combining the pulsating street jam sessions that nationals enjoy with a focus on 'Eat local, Buy local'. This idea has never been tested on the streets of St. Kitts, but like many of SPIRIT's previous events, all bars have been removed to deliver new events with unexpected but equally exciting cultural twists. Already, farmers have begun nurturing their finest harvests to boast when 'Tractorcade' picks up speed on the road this Easter!
One unique event was certainly not enough, and so the Black San' SPIRIT Game Show is set to be yet another first in next month's fest! This one is for families - families who wouldn't mind winning a grand prize of an all-expense paid cruise package for 4! It will be families coming up against families in different segments, including a Family Feud battle to the top and a Rams Price is Right segment with lots of special prizes to be won! Dust off those General Knowledge books and bring your family to SPIRIT's family Game show. Give it a try, Black San' may be sending your family to the vacation of your dreams!
And, if two never-before-tried spectacular events weren't enough, Black San' has thrown in a few more to sweeten the deal! Now, if you have a bicycle, are fit to ride and can handle the fun of an island-wide race, then you're in for a treat like only Black San' can deliver. The RAMs Endurance Bike-a-thon is the first ever competitive island-wide bike race, with prizes available to participants as young as age 8 and a glowing cash prize purse of around EC$5000 to be shared amongst adult cyclists. Even if you don't quite see yourself as an endurance cyclist, an exhilarating ride around the rock, with free food and drinks doesn't sound like too much of a bad idea! You need do only two things: pre-register by sending your name and age to sandypointspirit@gmail.com and make sure you have a bicycle with working brakes!!
The fun doesn't yet end! For the street revelers who never get bored of carnival carefree celebration, Service Charge j'ouvert jam is what's happening! Everywhere you go, there is some additional tax... well, Black San' has turned that into a reason to dress up and jam down the streets of Sandy Point in festive abandon! Try on a French maid outfit, or perhaps the butler suit will fit you fine; remember your gloves and duster, after all, you wouldn't want to be left out as the sea of revelers claims the streets!
