BASSETERRE St. Kitts, March 15th 2011 - Dr the Hon Timothy Harris, Senior Minister and Minister of International Trade, Industry, Commerce, Consumer Affairs, Agriculture, Marine Resources and Constituency Empowerment represented the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis at a state funeral held in Laborie, St. Lucia in honor of Sir Allan Fitzgerald Louisy, KCMG, SLC, Prime Minister of St. Lucia over period 1979-1981.
The Right Honorable Sir Allan as he was affectionately called was a former leader of the St. Lucia Labour Party, a Regional Civil Servant, Registar, Judge and Justice of OECS Supreme Court. Sir Allan retired as acting Judge of the Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal.
Several members of the Eastern Caribbean Bar, members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps, representatives of foreign governments, joined St. Lucia’s Governor General, Her Excellency Dame Pearlette Louisy and Prime Minister Stephenson King, family members and comrades of Labour at a state service at our Lady of the Purification Roman Catholic Church in St. Lucia on Friday 11 March 2011.
Father Prayer Odede and Father Joseph Raj were the officiating priests.
