According to the President of the St. Kitts and Nevis Federation Triathlon, Winston Crooke, Star Events have partnered with Livestrong foundation  to raise money for Pin Lily.  The Alexandra Hospital is  one of the institution that is also tipped to get donations.

Pink Lily was founded by British born Lea Parris-Cambridge after her and her mother’s own personal experiences with breast cancer. Pink Lily was founded and launched in Nevis, West Indies on Feb 9th 2008.

Tracy said the fund-raiser will go along way in enabling Pink Lily to continue supporting cancer patients and their families.  The funds raised will also go along way in helping offer free mammograms to another 100 women. Through the 50K200 fund raising events in 2009, EC25,000 was raised which enabled Pink Lily to offer free mammograms to 100 women in 2010.  Other funds raised helped meet other general costs such as donations to clients needing treatment, phone support for clients and printing of awareness creation materials.

Additional funds are needed to screen another 100 women and for the charity’s operational costs.. Currently, said Ms Parris  9 clients from the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis who have approached Pink Lily or have been refered to Pink Lily by physicians continue to be given emotional, psychological and counseling support.  Pink Lily volunteers also make home visits and whenever funds are available, Pink Lily has made donations towards clients’ treatment.

Since Pink Lily was launched, three clients have died.

Pink Lily cancer care Nevis is a non-profit charitable organization and relies on volunteer help, donations from the public, community fund raising efforts, patrons, sponsorship and funding to provide its service free to clients and the general public.
