BASSETERRE St. Kitts, April 1st 2011 – FIVE ‘electrifying’ models will hit the stage on April 24 to compete for the crown at the inaugural Miss Black San Swimsuit Pageant.
The pageant, which is one of the numerous events that will be staged for the Black San Bang-A-Lang Community Festival, will be held at Pump Bay in Sandy Point, and is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.
The contestants, who are all stage friendly from previous experiences in other pageants and have been modelling for various agencies in the Federation, are Roselyn Berkley, Zia Warner, Eusha Johnson, Teriza Ross and Stavena Lewis.
The beauties will be competing in six segments - Body Painting Swimsuit, Creative Wear Swimsuit, Vintage Swimsuit, I Rep SKN Swimsuit, Carib Black Swimsuit and Interview.
At the end of the show there would be three top places of which the queen will receive a Notebook (computer) and an all-expense paid trip to Anguilla to enter the 2011 Miss Venus Swimsuit Pageant in June, as well as other prizes.
Pageant’s Chairperson, Sacher Warner, is encouraging everyone to come out to Sandy Point and witness this spectacular event, which she promises would be one like no other.
She said preparations are “coming along nicely” and the contestants are expected to make their first public appearance tomorrow (Apr. 1) at the launch of the festival.
Warner said they had decided on a swimsuit pageant in order to bring something different to the community.
“In past festivals held in Sandy Point, every year there used to be a queen show. This year however, we wanted to do something from the norm and decided to introduce a Swimsuit Pageant,” she added.
The Swimsuit Pageant will be held as part of an all-day event which will begin at 10:00 a.m. with various water sports throughout the day.
