CHARLESTOWN Nevis, April 8th 2011 - Despite only showing up with seven players, the Four Seasons cricket team got the first thing right when they won the toss versus the SDA Jets at Ramsbury yesterday.

They batted first more than likely hoping that more players would show up during the course of their innings.

However, the way the openers went after the early bowlers for the Jets, they did not seem to require any help.  Former Nevis opening batsman Sherwin Woodley and Skipper ‘Soca’ Clarke totally dominated the early exchanges with Woodley in true calypso flair, not afraid to go over the top and Clarke with his signature shot --a back foot punch through the offside, which constantly found the gaps on the fast outfield.

The Jets men were obviously bewildered and taken aback as the score raced to all of 99 without loss with many overs remaining.

Suddenly, Brian Dowe, the ace bowler from the previous week, got Clarke trapped in front, playing across the line and the remaining batsmen came and went as if they had gotten a message that there was an emergency at the prestigious hotel. They eventually succumbed to 132 for 6—effectively all out.

Woodley top scored with 48 and Clarke got 40.

For the Jets, Dowe bagged 3 wickets, Denzil Stanley 2 and Taylor 1.

The Jets were obviously on a mission to finish the match quickly and were off to a flyer.  With just seven men on the field, the Four Seasons team appeared totally helpless.  The match was over in just 17 of the allotted 25 overs.

Summarized scores:  Four Seasons -132 for 6 (all out): Sherwin Woodley 48; Clarke 40
Brian Dowe 3 wickets; Denzil Stanley 2; Anthony Taylor 1

SDA Jets-133 for 2 in 17 overs: Oneil Walters 40 not out; Elroy Kelly 39 and Curtis Morton 25

Ronald Powell got 1 wicket and Captain Clarke 1

Jets will next engage Pennyless All stars at Jessups on Sunday in a critical encounter
