For years the city town of Basseterre have been without a proper male clothing store that catered to the needs of the professional, dappa style men of St. Kitts. Yes! We have our gentlemen's store on the corner of Fort and Central Street.
However, the style of clothing from that store seems to cater to church styles and weddings not for a night at the clubs.
And yes we do have the Juni Liburd Store on Cayon Street that specializes in Urban Wear which is fairly decent, however a store that caters with a certain taste was lacking.
A very sophisticated and professional look can be found at the newly opened store called Polo Company, which formerly housed the L Greene's 'Why Not' restaurant and bar.
Polo Company is a branch off the Athlete's Foot Store located on Victoria Road which is popularly known for the best sneakers and other shoe types.
"We cater to men who wish to go for a more sophisticated and professional look not too much of the ragamuffin look," said Manager Sheschel Blackmore. "Our aim is to please our customers and to make them happy and to be different."
She added that, "We have different brands in Polo shirts, pants and shoes, some of the brands are US Polo, Maxine, Beverly Hills Polo and Innovations just to name a few."
Of the grand opening Blackmore said that so far the opening has been going great and they have gotten sales.
"We have already been selling stuff, the guys love it they are so excited about the store opening, some of them are saying finally there is something for us;" she said.
Whether its business or pleasure, the store is sure to meet the needs of many men. Even the ladies are stopping by and looking at what the store offers. Ladies have good taste in picking men's clothing and will probably be flocking away buying for their significant other.

Rinel James along with some other men told SKNVibes.com that they were very excited that there is a men store where they can come and find casual wear.
They also said that they love the quality and style of the clothing and the pattern on the shirts. They also said that the atmosphere is very nice and love the layout and look of the store.
The room is designed to let the clothes speak for themselves. The soft lighting gives the clothes a sense of appeal and everything is easy to be found. It is difficult to walk out not wanting to buy anything.
Walking along Fort Street, the store stands out among other building as for awhile people speculated and anticipated what business was going there.
There is also a range of comfortable hard leather shoes, jeans or pants and underwear/boxers of different styles.
It is an elegant shopping experience for those who appreciate high quality and high style when working or going out on the town. Who knows! Pretty soon Polo Company might be bringing to the men a variety of accessories including belts, briefcases, bags, shoes, wallets, and more.
