One final pre-event before Black San's official opening

SPIRIT Press Release

SANDY POINT, St. Kitts and Nevis (April 11, 2011) - There's no sign that the Black San' hype is about to subside any time soon, as the Sandy Point community festival wraps up its pre-events with the first ever Positively Inclined Open Air Expressions at 8:00PM on Tuesday 12th April: the final event to rock the place before the festival rolls out two full weeks of explosive events!

The event is a mellow evening of extemporaneous debates and poetry, and adds a more pensive touch to the festival's string of events.

The night will open with a series of crowd-engaging extempo debates, where on-the-spot individuals would be able to advance and oppose topics unknown to them beforehand. This will not only test participants' ability to construct an argument on their feet, but will also encourage healthy discussions on community and national issues. For those who find debates too hard-line, this event, as are all the others, comes with a refreshing difference!

The night's impromptu debates, hosted by the charismatic Speaker of the St. Kitts- Nevis National Assembly- Hon. Curtis Martin, will be complemented with cultural and poetic expressions from the growing sensation Island Expression, and an Open Mic means that you would have the chance to hear uplifting and even provocative poetry, and would be able to simply express yourself. And, in the words of Black San' PRO Judy DuPont, this is something many people long to do but just need the platform.

'We would be surprised to find out the number of people who have strong views on different topics or those who keep a little diary, however old, to scribble deep thoughts and inspiring poems. And Black San' Bang-a-Lang will give people the soap box to express themselves.

'We often think of public debates as intimidating, and in some cases boring, but this is an event with a twist and will cater to those who love a good debate, those who enjoy tasteful poetry and those who don't mind giving either a try for the first time,' DuPont noted.

The Positively Inclined-sponsored event will bring Black San' Bang-a-Lang's pre-events to a close as all eyes will be set on Friday's (April 13) official launch! Stock up on sleeping hours now, because when Black San's hype peaks, there will be no time for rest! It will be unending, ever-increasing fun, excitement and carefree reveling to mark the staging of one of the biggest community events the nation has ever seen!!
