Police Press Release

    During the early morning hours of Monday 28th August 2006, officers of the Strike Force Unit stopped and searched motor vehicle RA-153 driven by David Penny with passenger Marlon Heath both of Cardin Avenue, Basseterre. The search revealed a small portion of cannabis on the drivers side of the vehicle, and one 380 pistol with eight (8) rounds of ammunition which the officers found while searching Heath. Both men were arrested and charged with the following offences, "Unlawful Possession of a Firearm", "Unlawful Possession of Ammunition", "Possession of a Controlled Drug" and "Resisting Arrest".

     

     

     

     

     

    The following persons were arrested and charged between 25th and 28th August 2006;

     


    ·        
    Mervin Young of Market Street was charged with the offence of "Being Armed with an Offensive Weapon" and "Threatening Language" committed on 22-08-06. He was later bailed in the sum of $5,000.00 to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on 4th September 2006.

     

     

     

    ·         St. Clair Walters of Green lands was charged with the offence of "Exposing his person" committed on 22-08-06. He was later bailed in the sum of $5,000.00 to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on 4th September 2006.

     

     

     

    ·         Ralph Flanders of Newton Ground was charged with the offence of "Carrying Abroad on offensive weapon" to wit one ice-pick committed on 25th August 2006.

     

     

     

    ·         A (15) fifteen-year-old male juvenile of Warner Street, Cayon was charged with the offence of "Unlawful Possession" committed on 24th August 2006. He was later bailed in the sum of $5,000.00 to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on 4th September 2006.

     

     

     

    ·         Clefton Phillip of The Alley, Sandy Point was charged with the offence "Possession of a Controlled Drug" cannabis, committed on 25th August 2006.

     

     

     

    ·         Laurenton Ryan of The Alley, Sandy Point was charged with the offence of "Larceny" committed on 23rd August 2006.

     

     

     

    ·         Kishawn Peters of The Alley, Sandy Point was charged with the offences of "Cultivation of a Controlled Drug" cannabis, "Possession of a Controlled Drug" cannabis, and "Obstruction" committed on 24th August 2006. He was later bailed in the sum of $3,000.00 to appear at the Sandy Point Magistrate Court on 5th September 2006.

     

     

     

    ·         Lionel Charles of The Alley, Sandy Point was charged with the offence of "Cultivation of a Controlled Drug" committed on 24th August 2006. He was later bailed in the sum of $3,000.00 to appear at the Sandy Point Magistrate Court on 5th September 2006.

     

     

     

    ·         Vernon Parris of The Alley, Sandy Point was charged with the offence of "Larceny" committed on 6th August 2006.

     

     

     

    ·         Allister Thomas of Buckley's Estate was charged with the offences of "Driving without a valid driver's license" and "Driving when not covered by insurance" committed on 26th August 2006. He was later bailed in the sum of $10,000.00 to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on 4th September 2006.

     

     

     

    ~~Adz:Left~~At the Basseterre Magistrate Court, Craig Warner of Sandy Point who was charged with the offences of "Insulting Language" and "Indecent Language" committed on 24th August 2006 was convicted and fined $500.00 to be paid in one (1) month or in default serve one (1) month in prison on each charge. He was also charged with the offence of "Obstruction" committed on same date and was sentenced to serve one (1) month imprisonment.
