BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE St. Kitts Music Festival Committee has begun some local promotions for the staging of the 15th Annual event and one of them , Music Festival Girls, was launched last week.

The eight ladies were launched at Twist Bar Restaurant and Lounge where they interacted with patrons, took pictures and answered questions.

Speaking with a member of the committee, he said the ladies’ job is to further promote and expose the St. Kitts Music Festival.

He also indicated that they would be present at all the festival’s promotions and events to answer questions and hand out flyers.

The young ladies were selected from a field of 13, aged 18-25, after having wowed the judges with their winning personalities, eloquent responses to a number of assessment questions, beauty and overall readiness to be in the spotlight to represent the annual extravaganza.

In a press release, the committee said it is confident that the ‘Electrifying Eight’ have the right attitude and energy to boost the promotional drive for what is leading up to be a pulsating production of the 15th annual St. Kitts Music Festival.

The dates have been set this year for June 23 to 25 and so far the Small Axe Band, Ali Campbell’s UB40, Maxi Priest, Yellow Man, Cocoa Tea, Konshens, Grammy Award winning musical group The Commodores and reggae icon Bunny Wailer were confirmed to perform.
