Eight sexually-related cases among 15 for May Criminal Assizes

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – FIFTEEN new matters are slated for the May Criminal Assizes, which is scheduled to begin on Tuesday (May 10), and among them are eight sexually-related.

    Included in the sexually-related cases are three for rape, two for buggery, one for incest and two for indecent assault.

    Those on rape charges are Lincoln Storrod, who was charged on June 19, 2010; Mario Harvey, charged on January 4, 2010; and Gavin Warner, who was charged on January 9, 2010.

    Kurt Prentice was charged with buggery, which he allegedly committed on February 2, 2011, while Mario Harvey and Joseph Herbert were jointly charged with the same, but unrelated, offence allegedly committed on July 7, 2010.

    Rafael Adams was charged with incest, allegedly committed on August 27, 2010, while Elvis Glasgow and Carl Warner were charged with indecent assault, allegedly committed on April 4, 2010 and August 28, 2010 respectively.

    The other seven new matters involve Joseph Gardener, Jason Liddie, Elmond Dickenson, Chadin and Kassim Buchanan, Kerim Rawlins, Kern Cabey and Gibson Blake.

    Gardner charged with unlawful wounding and wounding with intent; both offences were allegedly committed on May 5, 2010, while Liddie was charged burglary, larceny and receiving. He allegedly committed these offences on September 19, 20-10.

    Dickenson was charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm, allegedly committed on June 11, 2010; Chadin and Kassim Buchanan were jointly charged with unlawful wounding and wounding with intent, allegedly committed on November 14, 2010; while Rawlins was charged with receiving and robbery, allegedly committed on July, 31, 2010.

    Cabey was charged with endanger life to cause serious injury to property on January 14, 2010, and Gibson was charged with abduction and burglary, allegedly committed on July 10, 2010.

    The 15 new cases will join 23 traversed matters from the previous assizes and will be tried before His Lordship Justice Errol Thomas and prosecuted by the Director of Public Prosecution, Paulina Hendrickson and her team.
