SKNVibes Entertainment Weekend Review

By: Cherisse M. Sutton-Jeffers, SKNVibes

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – IN an article posted on Saturday (May. 7), SKNVibes indicated that there would be weekly publications of events slated for weekends called ‘Entertainment Weekend Round-up’.

The publications are aimed at providing brief details on upcoming weekends’ events as well as reviews on the following Mondays.

Although the last weekend was a very rainy one, it did not deter many people from their plans, as they braved the weather to have a fun-filled Mother’s Day on Sunday.

On Friday night (May 6), many patrons were seen at the Frigate Bay Strip, but the crowd was described as small when compared with past Fridays.

However, despite the inclement weather on the following night, hundreds of patrons turned out for the inaugural Miss Mother’s Day Pageant, which initially had eight contestants but saw only seven. A 24-year-old mother of three from Newtown took the crown along with the awards for three of the judged segments.

Meanwhile, later that evening at Ma Pau, the De Entourage-hosted Mother’s Day Green and White Bashment was a flop; approximately 20 persons turned up for the event.

On the other hand, the G Spot in Sandy Point took the cake with a relatively large turnout for the night’s event dubbed ‘A G-string Affair’.

On Sunday, the Eighth Annul Reign of Elegance Mother’s Day Hat Parade took place at the Arrival Terminal on Port Zante. This event also saw a large turnout with over 70 hats of varying shapes and sizes.  And, according to the organiser, the event had seen its biggest audience to date.

That same afternoon saw the encore presentation of the ‘Just Dance’ production number held at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank by the Children’s Dance Theatre. However, unlike the first presentation, this one did not see a capacity crowd but was well-attended by children and their parents.

If you would like your event listed in the weekly entertainment Weekend Round-up, feel free to email us at entertainment@sknvibes.com. Also remember to look out this Friday for the upcoming Weekend Round-up.
