    BRADES, Montserrat, May 11th 2011 - Montserrat is to host a delegation from the Antigua & Barbuda Government's Ministry of Sports on Thursday. The five-person delegation was invited by the Ministry of Youth, Community Services & Sports to hammer out the details of a Memorandum of Understanding on sports.

     


    According to Parliamentary Secretary, Hon. Jermaine Wade the delegation comprises of Sen. Hon Winston Williams Jr. - Minister of State, Local Government and Special Projects; Mrs. Eloise Sheppard - Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Sports, Youth and Gender Affairs; Mervyn Richards - Director of Sports; Mrs. Anne Jonas - Coordinator, Planning and Project Management; and Ms. Luann De Costa - Legal Counsel to the Ministry of Sports.

     


    Montserrat will be represented at the one-day meeting by: Hon. Jermaine Wade - Minister Ag.  - Ministry of Health, Education, Youth Affairs, Community Services and Sports; Eugene Skerritt - Permanent Secretary - Ministry of Youth Affairs, Community Services and Sports; Raymond Cabey - Principal Assistant Secretary - Ministry of Youth Affairs, Community Services and Sports; Wilston Scotland - Sports Officer Ag. - Ministry of Youth Affairs, Community Services and Sports; and a representative from the Attorney General Chambers.

     


    Discussions will centre around: coach exchanges and attachments; coordinating regular national sporting team visits; assisting Montserrat in developing a national sports policy; access to athletic facilities for Montserratian athletes on Antigua & Barbuda; and closer collaborations between both ministries of Sports and Youth Affairs.
